We cannot talk about Lanzarote without referring to its oenology and its unique wine-growing landscape. After the eruption of Timanfaya between 1730 and 1736, the fertile land in the centre of the island was covered by volcanic ash. The farmers transformed the volcanic ash into a fertile cultivation field for vines and as a result we find this landscape where a singular and unique grape is grown, the volcanic malvasia, highly appreciated in the wine world for its balance and quality, which produces the unmistakable wines of Lanzarote. An impressive balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and one of the most representative architectural creations of the artist César Manrique.
